There is now a progression, in some cases, away from insolvency and towards recovery. This is particularly relevant where the value in the business is in intellectual property rights, trademarks, goodwill and orders and contracts rather than in tangible assets such as stock, vehicles, equipment, etc.

It can be far better to try to preserve these assets and dispose of them in a way which realises the most funds and SIA has in recent times gained considerable experience in this field.
