SIA participates in Asset Based Lending Round Table – Real Deals, March 2017

The rapidly evolving European ABL market is growing in popularity among Private Equity borrowers. The Round Table, conducted by Real Deals with a panel of industry leaders in March 2017, discusses where ABL stands today, how it is being used, and what its future holds.

Real Deals, the specialist journal and independent voice of European Private Equity, has selected SIA Group to participate in a round table panel event to discuss the key issues facing the Asset Based Lending Industry. The published article summarises the outputs of the session with key industry leaders, giving consideration as to where ABL stands today, how it is being used and what its future holds.

Paul Craig, managing director of SIA Group discussed the key role that asset valuations plays within the Asset Based Lending sector today as well as taking a wider industry perspective. The expert panel also featured other highly respected industry leaders such as Simon Adcock (LDC), Paul Beveridge (PNC Business Credit), Steven Chait (Wells Fargo), Jeremy Harrison (Bank of America Merrill Lynch), John Onslow (IGF), Melinda Purdy (RBS Asset Based Lending) and Ben Slatter (Rutland Partners).

The rapidly evolving European ABL market is growing in popularity among Private Equity borrowers as Paul Craig, observes: “Over the past five years ABL has become recognised by private equity firms. Today, there is a greater understanding of ABL and the versatility of the product. We’ve seen a tremendous appetite for the growth of the product in the UK and it is featuring more and more in private equity-sponsored deals. The potential for ABL to expand in the UK, as it has in the US, is significant.”
